Mermer continues to improve. I still cannot look at her fully, walk directly towards her, or pet her really- but she's improving. She spent the morning in the yard, in her corner, napping. I've taken the long line off of her collar because she is now responding to me asking her to come inside. I ask her once, walk towards her a little bit, make eye contact, then walk away. She follows. But, if I glance back at her or she catches me sneaking a look in her direction- she takes off running, scared to death.
This afternoon we all came in from the heat for a nice Saturday nap. Mermer is getting better about going through doorways, and actually slept on the floor next to my dresser! While most won't find this fascinating, it's wonderful news to me! She is slooooowly starting to trust me enough to leave herself "exposed" just a little.
It is wonderful to here about the progress she is making. Each day it sounds like there are small steps toward recovery. I look forward to hearing about what she does today and tomorrow!
