Mermer still does not know what to think about her new life. At times, I see hints of her coming out of her shell, but at other times all I see is still the scared girl, running away.
Around 3:30 am this morning, I heard her paw at her crate door- she was telling me she had to go out! So, we went out, she did her thing, then she promptly followed me back up the stairs and into her crate! Wow.
She spent most of the day again today in the groom room, napping in a crate and keeping an eye on everyone. She finally ate her dinner this evening, then napped again, and then followed the gang outside for about an hour of romp time. She still keeps her distance from me, but has actually started to follow my Sylvie around. Mermer very much needs to feel protected, and I think she's starting to seek that out in the other dogs. Another big thing she did today was take a cookie from my hand! Her new favorite place to sleep, besides her crate, is in my bathroom ontop of my dirty clothes that she's taken from the hamper.
MerMer has a long way to go, but she'll get the hang of it!
